When I was pregnant with my second child I began thinking of a way to outwardly symbolise my love for my children. Many people today purchase jewellery to mark the birth of a child and the incredible love they feel for them, but I wanted something that would more personally represent my daughters and my bond with them. I had a scout around the Internet and could not find any quality jewellery that met my needs. Slowly an idea began to form, and when my youngest was about four months old I scribbled down my idea and approached a manufacturing jeweler to have the first LoveLoops made. My plan was to see what kind of reaction my own Loops received from other Mums, and then perhaps to develop, brand and market my gorgeous product... and well here we are!
It is important to me that LoveLoops are top quality, a real piece of jewellery, and that's why I have them crafted by a Master Manufacturing Jeweller in solid Sterling Silver and solid 9ct Gold. It took some time to find an engraver who could put up with my fussy perfectionism. The engraving is done by computer, but with quite a lot of human input, as it is rather tricky to get the curve exactly right.
The symbolism of the Loop really is perfect for representing the love and the bond between mother and child. It carries forth from the connection we have in the womb; the way Mother and Child are linked in the womb is represented by the way the LoveLoop encircles and links directly over the chain. The Loop also represents the circle of life, the bringing into the world of a new generation. The Loop has no beginning and no end, but goes on forever like the love we feel for our child whose name is inscribed on the Loop. The symbolism of the Loop is deeply meaningful, which makes LoveLoops feel, as well as look, brilliant to wear.
